Pictures and graphics
- Big Photo This is a good site for free photographs for personal and educational use.
- Freefoto.com Freefoto is limited in scope, but has good quality photographs that are free for noncommercial use. (*)
- Freefoto.ca A limited collection of pictures that can be used for both commercial and noncommericial projects (Canadian focus) (*)
- Image After Photographs and other resources are freely available for both personal and commercial use. Many sections include photographs of subjects rarely included on free stock photography sites (ie camels).
- Morgue File These freely available high resolution stock photographs may be used for both personal and commercial projects. This site has an excellent selection. (*)
- NSSDC Photo Gallery a gallery of NASA photographs that are in the public domain (credit should be given to NASA and the NSSDC)
- PD Photo: Free Public Domain Photo Database a nice collection particularly focused on locations
- Perfect Digital Free Stock Photos These freely available high resolution stock photographs may be used for both personal and commercial projects.

However, I do not control the linked websites and users are advised to check the sites for full details regarding acceptable use. Sometimes materials stop being freely available or additional restrictions are added. I will be continually updating this list.
Resources marked with an (*) are ones I use. The fact that I do not use a resource site is not a reflection of the site (there are numerous excellent ones I don't use), but because I prefer to use my own resources. If I linked to a site it means that I think it has excellent resources.
